Location: Miami | Picked up an interesting guitar today... had to have it after I played it... now just wondering what it is...
It is a white, single cutaway, two pickup (with a slide switch per pickup)two volume and two tone controls with a les paul style pickup switch. All brass and brass plated hardware and pickup surrounds Has mono and stereo outputs, with great action and tone. serial no. is E12xxx (which I believe stands for 1975 Feb - 1980 solid body according to this site) The color seems to be original. guitar appears to be in great shape.
Any history on these guitars? The tone seems to be more for rhythm work than for lead work, |

Location: The Great Pacific Northwest | You have stumbled across a UKII. Ultra Kaman 2. A great guitar. The body is a Urelite not wood and the pickups were custom designed humbuckers for that guitar. From the brosure... The switches on the pickups or the "Series Parallel Selector (SPS) switches give you the instant choice of either double-coil mode (series winding) for thick sound, or single-coil mode (parallel winding) for a penetrating lead sound"

I remember having seen it on an album cover years ago, but cannot remember which band. It would be interesting to know who has used her professionally.
I am unclear as to how do you run (if at all) the stereo outs, and how were they used. I also have been playing around with the switches and pickup selectors, but am not totally confident that they are working as they should... series to the right? parallel to the left? can you have one pickup series and one parallel for certain sounds, and how does all this relate to the selector switch?
After close inspection, I do see where a lot of expense and care went into this guitar's build... from the excellent hardware, to the beautiful finish on the neck. I would like to get any info available about this guitar, and if you have access to a brochure, I would gladly pay you for a copy.
Thanks
