Location: Zion, Illinois | Somewhere, and I thought it was on this board, I heard something about a wooden-backed Ovation-like guitar that someone made. I didn't bid on it because it didn't sound like it was in good condition.
Welll, back to looking for a classical guitar.

Location: Scotland | There was another on Ebay a while ago, made I beleive by one of the OFC members, but to a much, much higher standard with better materials. There's been a few wooden bowlbacks over the years, I saw one about 15 years ago by a British luthier called Mervyn Hiscock & another by Nigel Thornbory. They sounded fine but struck me as being a little delicate, with all of the seams on the back/sides. It's a lot of work for something that can be moulded real easily.

Location: 6 String Ranch | Alvarez-Yairi had a wooden bowl shaped(ovation shape) guitar in the line up for several years. It wasn't bad but it was a two bagger paghead. |
