Did anyone catch the re-run of the old Glen Campbell Hour show last night (5/28)? Glen and Neil Diamond did several duets, both on Ovations. I'll admit that I'm not a big fan of their respective styles, but it was great to see the two acoustics in duet.

My husband puts the Glen Campbell reruns on every night, just so I can see all the different Ovations which are played!

I'm glad to see that the guys here didn't drive you off. Overall, they're pretty harmless.

As to the Ovations played, the ones that surprised me the most were two classicals played by Campbell and Jerry Reed that appeared to have wood binding around the bodies. Pretty nice guitars.

Hi, Paul. No, nobody ran me off. I'm much too old to play shy or coy, and certainly am not easily embarrassed. My sense of humor lies pretty low and base. Actually, I thought they were funny and passed their comments on to some of my club-mates in the West Florida Canoe Club.

:D

By the way, Paul, I note with interest your observance of the wood binding on the two guitars. I, too, love to see beautiful woods combined expertly. My favorite lap dulcimer (built by my luthier husband) is bound with wood. I guess you could say it's my favorite non-Ovation instrument in the house!

Ovation did make and sell dulcimers.I am looking at a piece of literature with all the models they offered...The literature says Ovation instruments inc.,Dulcimers.....Then below that it says handcrafted by Magic mountain instruments,Sausalito,Calif.

We had plans for a sledge Hammer dulcimer for the heavy metal bands but it didn't take off. It never made it off the drawing boards, pity.

A round-back mountain dulcimer? Puleeze! All the members of the Dogwood Dulcimer Club use guitar straps to keep the flat-back ones on our laps (what little lap we have left), but a round-back would likely be upside down by the second chord. However, I have seen a couple of round-back walk-about dulcimers.

If anyone were interested, I'm sure the Old an' Gray Lutherie in my back yard could design one for you, acoustic or solid-body electric -- at an exorbitant cost to the buyer, of course!

Oldan could develop a whole line -- call 'em "the spinners"! :D

Isn't it "growing out of his shoulder"?

Okay, I'll bite -- is the ecstatic reference a personal reference or something that is public knowledge and may be shared with others?
