Yee-haw! Just bought a Fostex VF-80 digital multi-tracker. Finally, I can record these things I been lugging around for years. Got this one song... for 15 years every time I played the song, I could hear this one note that just had to be in the song, but it would take a second guitar to make it happen..... yesterday, I recorded it, then cut a second track just for the lead line and THAT ONE NOTE!!!!! It was perfect, just like I imagined it would be. That one note justified the purchase price for me!

Home recording has certainly become easier... along with professional recording too. What used to take hours to explain to somone how to play you can now whip out in just a few takes.

I almost bought a Fostex VF-08 last week to replace my Fostex FD-08. With mine I have to hook up external effects, compressor, and pre-amp (it doesn't have phamtom power). The setup takes up a lot of space in an already cramped room.

The VF-08 was only $399 brand new and I almost went for it, but instead I just moved my son's computer to the basement at his request freeing up all kinds of space.

Enjoy your multitrack,

Bradley
