They talked about how great they were, but they didn't mention how they were made. I know that the SIT strings that I sell are made differently than other strings. I know that Adamas strings are made differently than other strings. All these people seem to be doing is raving about them, but never mentioning WHY. | ||

Many strings and wire start with core wire that's run through draw benches and then cured. I wonder if they are stretching them again. If they are, it can only be minimal or it will reduce the life and intonation of the string. Metal is metal and the physical properties are constant. They might be using an with an extremely dense core wire. Other than that I don't know... | ||

Besides, as someone whose love of fishing is second only to guitars, it sounds too much like Fireline, which will ruin your gear. It's almost as bad as Spiderwire. Won't use either one, and I catch a lot of fish! | ||

Joined: February 2004 Posts: 2487 | I did buy some EXP extended play stings. they are a coated string and they were cheaper than the Elixir Nono's I usually buy, these are made by D Addario but for some reason they seem to sound pretty bad real fast and I am not so sure these should be called extended paly. They don't sound as good as standard strings but they do sound like well used strings as fast as regular bronze wounds. Any new string is worth a try. | ||

Joined: April 2006 Posts: 2491 Location: Copenhagen Denmark | Metallurgy is a complex something , there`s probably some truth in what they`re saying , will that make for a better string ?..as for graphs , any tech can make a test anyway he wants it , anyway , I would evaluate a string after tuning/re-tuning , playing hard for three days , just to make sure the string has " settled " Just got a set of Newtone Master Class Double wound strings , which feature a round core with a double coil on the bass-strings ( sounds special to me ) , can n`t make up my mind on what guitar to try them out yet :) Vic here`s the link : http://www.newtonestrings.com/acoustic_page.htm | ||
