Location: NJ | If there are any Grateful Dead/Jerry Garcia/Blugrass fans here, I suggest checking out a documentary of Jerry and David Grisman called "Greatful Dawg".
Caught it on TV late last night (on Starz or Enchore - one o' them).
Although I have NEVER been a fan of Jerry, the Dead, NOR bluegrass, I've always had an appreciation of Grisman's work and found the documentary quite interesting. A lot of footage both live onstage and informally in Grisman's house. Worth catching. |

Location: NJ | I probably have this wrong, but it was my understanding that it was named that because it was recorded at one of those guys' houses and during a break they ordered pizza and when no one was looking, the pizza guy took off with the tapes.
I think they were MIA for a while before they resurfaced. |

That's the story that I read somewhere. There were more than one copy tho'. Evidently the recordings started surfacing as bootleg tapes and the three principals were asked to sign them. It was decided by the players to release the recordings themselves to have control over what was out there.
Listening to them, you realize just how good all three are (well, in Garcia's case, were). |
