Ok people, I'll take the rap for this one. My "sayeth the lord" & Athiest comments were unnecessary, & probably mildly inflammatory. This was never about beliefs, or lack of, just about politeness. Hopefully normal service (no pun intended) wil be resumed.

Ok Paul. I tried to take the heat but if you are bound and determined to be this week's middle age white guy then all I can say is "Bad bad boy".

If you had put down something Wiccan you probably would have sparked a series of "Huh's" and "What is that". It was not the Christian signiture that caused the "lame" remarks, it was the second post, that, in computer speak, shouted at us all, which means we all jumped up and said "What was that?". After we determined that the Board wasn't on fire, we had that reaction of "please don't shout, we can hear you fine." If you have children or siblings, you might chide them for shouting at you when you are busy, but that is not rejection of them or their message, just a plea not to add to the aggravation that we all live with. If you would review the boards posts you will find other Christian signatures that didn't cause any untoward remarks. We are happy on the board to share experiences, but do not exist to serve anybody, any help that is given by the board members is voluntary, not required. The existance of the board is not the equivalent of a gov't program. Because we all own and love Ovation instruments doesn't obligate us to service every person who visits the site. This is a board not a job.

I started out being tolerant and ended up preaching, my soul is in danger.

My response to Tayah's inflammatory second post was NOT intended to be "Christian bashing" and I apologize (although I don't know why) if it were misconstrued that way.

Yes, there are others who do have some kind of Christian connotation in their signature. If for some reason this makes these people feel better, fine. I respect their right to express themselves and their beliefs (I, for one have a DARWIN "fish" on the back of my car). The reason that I made mention of Tayah's was that she put absolutely NO thought or logic into her question/post, admittedly didn't even bother to proof read it while making a major effort to compose a signature that in all intents and purposes is the equivalent to a friggin' pop-up banner ad!! (and THEN go ballistic when she hasn't received the response time she feels she deserves)

The point that I was trying to make is that this is supposed to be a guitar-oriented message board. Granted, we do have a tendancy of going off on tangents (I'm probably more guilty than most) but usually socio-politico-religioso views are left at your mouse pad. WHAT IF by chance (I'm NOT, but I'm using this as an example) I put some inflammatory, white-supremacist rhetoric in my signature with a link to some ultra-radical site. Would I have less of a right to do so?

Got a problem with the Wiccan, Tayah?
You've singled them out specifically, so (using your train of thought) you're into "Wiccan-bashing". Sorry, you're on the wrong coast (Salem's on the Atlantic) and you're a few centuries too late.

In order to play guitar, you need callouses. In order to have callouses, you need skin. I suggest you grow some!

The Christians are being "picked on", the Jews are "oppressed", the Muslims are subjected to "racial profiling", the Atheists "don't have a holiday", and the poor Quakers are being "type-cast as oatmeal mongers". There are (and always have been) more people being killed because of religion than drugs, cars, planes and crime combined.

Can't we just leave it all outside of our "little box" for a while and just play some guitar?

relax if Tayah comes back and asks a coherent question it will get answered. We all have different views race sex etc and all are tolerated here. Sure some folks like to wear their hearts on their sleeves or have a tatoo to advertise their views. that is fine too. If you don't like it you don't have to click on the link.
