| I've been playing the acoustic for about 3 1/2 years now. My first ovation is a CS257(got it as a Christmas gift). I started to hear a buzzing sound in the G-string(bridge) about 2 months ago. I've changed strings(D'Addario EXP16) twice since and it still buzzes. My guitars are well humidified. BTW there are no dings or cracks on my guitar. Can anyone please help me?

Location: Pensacola,FL | If you place a slight pressure on the string behind the saddle and pick the string does it still buzz? (The buzz was coming from the saddle area right?). Let me know what happens, I may be able to help with more info :D |

| Yes, its coming from the saddle.
Well, when the buzz first started, I humidified my guitar for a week straight(in the case). It seem to stop buzzing when I tried it then. I thought that was the problem, so I humidified it a few more days. After that I tried it again; it immediately it started buzzing again.
Then I resorted to changing the strings, but it was only good for a few days. It never buzzes when I use a pick, only when I fingerpick. It only buzzes on the open G-string. Sometimes it doesn't buzz right away, but after about 30 minutes of playing.
I just tried tightening the circular cover in the back of the guitar. Earlier when I checked, it didn't buzz. I'll try to apply slight pressure behind the saddle when it starts buzzing and let you know what happens. I hope tightening the cover is the solution. If not, then I'll post again for help.
Thanks

| Buzzing started again...but when I tried to put a little bit of pressure to the string behind the saddle, it still buzzes. Do you think it could be a very little simple thing like the battery casing? |

Location: Pennsylvania | Let me tell you about buzzing...
You can look and look and look, grab things, tighten things, loosen things, perform a million experiments, and you might not find it. Just a little venting...
If you think it may be the battery casing, take the "plug" or cover off the back, and get someone to put a hand in and grab ahold of the battery casing. Then play something that usually causes the buzz, and see if it still buzzes. Or take the battery out and see if it still buzzes. Or you could go in and tighten the battery casing screws.
While you're in there, look around for loose cables/wires that could be vibrating against the side of the body (unlikely), or any thing else in there that could possibly be loose or buzz.
There's also a slim chance it could be a loose brace...

| I haven't heard a loud buzz ever since I tightened up the back panel. I found out that the battery case causes a light rattle when I play loud. I really think it was the back cover that was causing the loud buzz. If I hear the buzz again, I post for more help.
This is a GREAT site. The guys here are Very helpful. Keep up the good work~!!!
