Extremely talented musicians and songwriters (Check out "6:00" or "Erotomania" for great examples of their work). But just about anything in the progressive vein gets my juices flowing :D I also love jazz, like Chick Corea and Allan Holdsworth, and blues (SRV!!). A guilty pleasure of mine is also Power-pop type stuff, like Ben Fold's Five. What's your current fave?

I am into bluegrass and country because that's what I know how to play, so I'm getting my opinion in here early. You should get some other opinions shortly and don't refrain from speaking your mind here. Bailey [ August 31, 2002: Message edited by: Bailey ]

My actual guitar has a deeper red cherry burst, and (unfortunatly) has some wiring trouble; it crackles every once in a while, and the neck pickup's volume pot you sometimes have to tap for it to kick in all the way :( The guitar was all like that when it was given to me, and I can't find a guitar tech I trust enough to fix it. Ah well.

I like some of rage against the machine but hate their politics. sublime offspring things like that are kinda cool. On the acoustic side leo kotke, richard thompson, keaggy, preston reed, matt smith, california guitar trio, there are a host of others I just am drawing a blank right now. I usually play rock with some jazz and blues leanings....

What I play is more "based" on what I listen too. Lets see... - Blue Oyster Cult - Stone Temple Pilots - Faith No More - Harry Chapin - System of the Down - Inxs - John Denver - The Carpenters - Queen - Styx - Journey - The Police - Cheap Trick That should be enough for now.

Joined: March 2002 Posts: 873 Location: puerto vallarta, mexico | this is a tough one. i went to the cd rack to see what we play allot and it includes everything from old ludwig (the 9th still blows my hair back) to robert johnson. it really is a mood thing. i'm not crazy about rap and don't own any of that music that seems to capitalize on gangs and violence. i particularly like vintage rock and guys like "slowhand", stevie ray and hendrix are right up there too. and even though we have opera cd's i almost never play them (my wife does). most of it reminds me of people putting on their clothing before checking for scorpions. actually, the copper bras are pretty cool, if they were hanging on something that didn't weigh 280. cliff----do you have mule variations by tom waits? get behind the mule is a favorite cut for that funky waits style. he is truely unique. music is the universal language. i like most all of it.

They showed it straight through with no commercials, it was really great. They are showing films all weekend with musical themes. Bailey

Those were the best dives I'll ever remember, the first are the best. CMT called her the number one lady country star in this weekend's 3 hour program on the top 40 ladies. Patsy Cline! Bailey

Kinks/Ray Davies (Ovation player), Beatles, Pink Floyd, Barenaked Ladies, U2, Nirvana, Green Day, Clapton, Queen, Tull, CSN&Y, Aerosmith. No Rap, C or W.
