I purchased a 1615 12 string about a month ago and have been experimenting with different strings. I normally use light phosphor bronze but have not been satisfied with the very bright sound - also the sound didn't seem balanced - too much high end. I just installed GHS light silk and bronze and really like the sound now. More mellow but warmer and richer and with fantastic sustain. And plugged in the sound is awesome. I can't believe the difference but am happy to have experimented and to have found a great sound. Anyone else tried these strings?

I'm trying them out right now on my Elite 1537 6-string. I had tried silk & steel strings years ago on my Gibson, but I didn't like the sound at all. But on my Elite the silk & bronze strings sound very good. Also easy to fingerpick.

Someone on the board e-mailed me and suggested I try LaBella Silk & Steel medium gauges. I bought a set and I am waiting until my Adamas II needs restringging to try them out. I'll let you know how the LaBella's work out.
