Just purchased an Ovation Pinnacle CU147 (pre-amp OP30) and have the following questions/observations. (I am a novice guitar hacker)

Sound - I love the tone of the guitar when finger picking but it sounds a little "tinny" when strumming. I was thinking about some elixer strings for it and I understand the heavier the strings the better low-end you get. I have been told that elixers are smoother to play. (I have not tried the pre-amp yet I imagine I can control the sound better with that)

Buzz - The low E seems to "buzz" a lot when I play. It that me or is it something that needs to be adjusted? (somehow I missed that in the store).

Any other new owner hints??

Let it acclimate SLOWLY to its new environment. You air may be very dry up there, which could stress the top real good (famous Ovation lacquer cracking and all that other mythology). I was just perusing the latest stringthis.com advertisement. They have a kit for winterizing guitars that you may want to check out. Good luck with your new critter, and yes, get that low "e" string adjusted.

Yes, the air is very dry in Saskatoon. I did purchase a humidifier for the guitar already.

Thanks for the tips.
