Following up on my previous posting and after I have searched and found more information about my guitar, can someone please solve the following mystery for me. It is very important to me:
I have a Ovation 12 string. It was given to me as a birthday gift between 1976-1978, although I am not sure exactly when. It is acoustic, hollow body, round back, deep bowl--I think, pearl tuning pegs, 12 frets clear, non-cutaway, slotted headstock, natural finish, with a built in pickup and one knob volume control. There is a number inside near where the neck joins the body on the inside of the back facing out towards the sound hole (I am assuming this is the serial number). The number is 121217 (I am also assuming this means the guitar was manufactured between Sept 1977 and April 1978 based on information from the Ovation Website--"cracking the code"). The sticker that is supposed to be right inside the hole has been torn off. The guitar has 19 frets. The guitar looks exactly like the Glen Cambell 1118-4 12 String with the following differences--No Glen Campbell signature or anything else on the Truss Rod cover, the 17th fret does not have any inlay or any other marking and the 15th fret has a round pearl inlay as opposed to a diamond shaped pearl inlay. I am very interested to find out the model name, number etc. Can anyone help me with this. Thanks

This is a Pacemaker 12 string. You're right about the time of manufacture. The main differences between the Pacemaker 12 and the Glen Campbell 12 is that the GC has an ivory-bound fingerboard, a little more pearl inlay, gold hardware, the GC signature on the truss rod cover, and ostensibly, a little better quality spruce top, though I'm not totally convinced. I have had one of each in my time and they both served me extremely well. It's a nice instrument and, in good condition, a real keeper...unless you replace it with a Custom Legend 12, as I eventually did. Anyway, great guitar. Continue to make great music with it!
