One of the people who influenced me greatly in my desire to play was a serious fan of Ovation/Adamas named Terry Minion. He must have had ten Ovations. The one he would play most of the time leading worship in his wonderful, folksy, style was an Adamas with a carbon fiber (of course) top finished in a cherry burst color. It had just two soundholes, one in the upper bout (treble side), and one in the lower bout (bass side). It had no epaulets or decorations around the soundholes. It was an awesome guitar and I have never seen another one like it anywhere. Anyone have any info for me?

Location: SoCal | About 5 or 6 years ago Ovation came out with, for a short while, an Adamas 3, which was modeled on one of the prototypes of the original Adamas, but had the simplified soundhole configuration. If memory serves, if was a dull red sunburst (or reverse sunburst). I played one once. It wasn't a bad guitar. It was only produced for about a year. |

Location: Tampa, Florida | I do believe it was an Adamas 3. It was a great guitar that "played itself". Terry was a big influence on my playing and along with the other guitarist in the praise band, who played an Ovation Legend, helped me to develop a strong liking for Ovations. I am about to buy my fourth.
Thanks for the info. |

Location: 6 String Ranch | Did this guitar have a grafite neck too? I seem to remembner the Ad 3 having a Status Grafite neck ( as in Status Bass from England) Rob Green made some necks for Ovation but it proven once again that parts mfg elsewhere and assembled at the factory never work out that smoothly. |
