I am currently at home for a few days due to some unfortunate circumstances. While I am here, I need to get a truss wrench to take back with me for my 1711 Balladeer. The guitar is curently on the ship in the Indian Ocean, patiently awaiting my return in a few more days.

What size is the truss wrench for a 1711 Balladeer? Thanks.

Chuck

3/16" but you better get a long one, that nut is way up there in that body. You could call cust. service and get a factory one. Good luck

I called them last week about a truss rod wrench for my Elite and Adamas. It arrived Monday morning. What a great Customer Service Department!

I still don't like the truss rod adjustment inside the body. Any idea why Ovation went with that design?

Having the truss rod access at the head adds weakness to an already vunerable area. So while it's a little more difficult to get at, having the adjustment at the body means the guitar has less chance of a neck-break if the headstock takes a whack. The 2002 Collectors edition reverted back to the head-end adjustment because they couldn't fit the K-bar assembly into it's very thin neck.
