Location: Texas | I have wanted a nice old "O" for some time. My aspirations were for an old Balladeer with no need to plug in. Landed what seems to be a nice 1112-4 serial number 044747. Looks to be a 1975 model.
I have not touched this darling yet and was interested in general feedback on this sweetheart. The price was right so I can't complain. I'm not looking for "what it's worth"...in fact I could care less. Just wondering if you guys in "Ovation land" thought and if this was a cool guitar to get a hold of.
Any thing I need to pay close attention to on this old lady?

Location: Phoenix AZ | Congratulations on your old O purchase. I never owned a 1112, but I can imagine it is a pretty nice sounding guitar. Hats off to deep bowls, no cutaways, and pure acoustic. It's wonderfully refreshing to se a post from someone who "could care less what it's worth". That means that it's worth plenty to you.
As far as care, the only things I would suggest would be to keep it clean, keep it in a constant temp & humidity emvironment, and keep it in the case. Depending how "used" it is, you may want to have the frets dressed and action set.

Location: Texas | Glad to hear this is a nice one. I promised my wife that this would be my last guitar until I was playing main stage at the Houston Livestock Show. I did manage to buy my daughter a new Hamer for Christmas without any objections.
i have an older buddy with an Ovation that He has owned since '68. Just hoping this one sounds as good as his.
As my good friend Robert Earl said, "Merry Christmas from the Family".

For me, two in the last two months GAS can be terribly uncomfortable. |

Location: Zion, Illinois | I've had very bad GAS this year. So far I've picked up...
1) Elite 1537
2) Adamas II
3) Elite 12-String (a fixer-upper)
4) Guild Mark IV Classical (very strange guitar, they used WOOD for the back and sides instead of plastic)
I promised my wife, NO MORE. Problem is, I really like that 1997 Collectors guitar, looks nice for finger pickin'.
