I'm looking to buy a (black)custom legend 12 string for Christmas from Musician's Friend. It is currently out of stock and won't be available until 02-25-03. Can anyone tell me if it will come with the New OP50 preamp or will be still be the old preamp?

The truth is that I have never owned/played a 12 string before. Can anyone tell me more about this guitar?

I have a couple of 12 strings and enjoy them immensly. I just purchased a CS245 and it came with the new (OP30) pre-amp, so I would expect that you would get the new one on the 6759. However at what you're looking at in $$ you may want to consider the Elite 1858 or the Adamas W598 (I see that Music123 carries them) as a choice if you're interested in a multi-sound hole model.

Good shopping...post pictures :)

I've always wanted a black (or white) guitar. I like the carbon fiber top Adamas, but for now I'm not looking for a mutiple soundhole model. The 6759 custom legend would be perfect for me. I'm really looking forward to buying this guitar. I just have to wait for the platinum card approval. Thanks for the reply

There is a black custom legend 12-string currently on ebay. Looks pretty nice.

Just got approved for the platinum card at Musician's Friend.com :D . The bad news is that I have to wait 3 months until its available(6759 Custom Legend 12-String) :( . This will be my first 12 string, so I'll have alot of questions. Until then I'll just have to wait.

I love my black 12-string Custom Legend ! I had Ovation custom build it as a super-shallow cutawy back in 1990.
(I figured if I was going to buy something that expensive, I mught as well spend a little more and have a one-of-one guitar. In fact, before I picked it up at my local dealer, he told me he showed it to a regular customer (read wealthy)who had recently bought the 6-string version. She then pulled out a check, filled it out to the store, signed it, and told him to fill out the amount for whatever it would take for her to take it home. He declined telling her it was a custom order for another customer. I told him he should have said five grand and we'd have split it down the middle HA HA HA)
Everyone I've ever shown it to just drools over it and it plays and sounds awesome. If you are gonna spend the kind of dough they cost you might as well have what I feel is the prettiest Ovation made.
I know from personal experience that you won't regret buying it (except perhaps for the finance charges on your card).
