Location: Phoenix AZ | As with many other things in life, you get what you pay for. For $299 new, the celebrity CC-057 is a great deal. Go for it - but don't expect it to play, sound or look like a $1000 USA model. It will be worth the $299 and a nice guitar for a beginner. Personally, I would not get too hung up on Korea or any other place of manufacture unless you have a real bad taste in your mouth from the military. I'm not too familiar with upgrading the pickup and pre-amp, but I would guess it's possible.
