Location: Saint John, NB, Canada | Hello All --
I am a relatively new guitar player (about 6 months) and a brand new Ovation owner (girlfriend got me a CS257 for Christmas). I have located plenty of information about care and maintenance of the woods on my guitar, but I haven't located anything about cleaning the back. I have noticed already (and assumed it would be this way) that the back material marks quite easily. Any suggestions on how or if these marks can be removed? It's not a big deal since the back only faces me when playing but you know how we are about our babies...like to keep them looking sharp at all times. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Play on...play long... |

Other than that, the back should be 100% care free. Just don't wear a belt buckle or jeans with a metal button, because that will scratch the back. Dave |

Location: Singapore | Thats what I do to! Also don't prop up these roundbacks against a corner like you would any normal acoustic. The curved back doesn't balance well on any surface and with a slight nudge, can cause it to tumble down. I learnt once the hard way when I propped it on a sofa to get a drink. The curved back slid down the sofa and a hollow bouncing sound was heard!!!...sigh** |
