I know this is totally off topic but anyways. I have a question about Lace Sensor Pickups. I've used these dead quiet pickups in several of my guitars and are awesome pickups. However, I went to the music store today to see if they had any for sale and the guy told me Lace doesn't exist anymore. They packed up and are out of business. Now Lace's webpage is still up and running and the "Fender-Lace Sensor" pickups are still listed on Fender's site. Does anyone know for sure if Lace has gone out of business completely?

Don Lace was the guy and he died a few years ago, maybe 8 by now. It was abpout 2-3 years after he signed up with Fender. Perhaps the whole lace thing has had the course by now?

"Dead quiet..."

When it came to Lace Sensors, while they were indeed quiet, for me, the operative word was the "dead" part. They just didn't have the character/tone of the vintage type. I had a couple of Strat Pluses but didn't keep them long. I find EMG's to be like this as well but that's my ears.

I love EMG pickups also, but the Fender noiseless pickups sound really nice. Very clean vintage tone, and quiet.

Seymour Duncan and Carvin. I like a couple of Dimarzio's but given a choice.. Duncan's are my choice.

Lace and EMG is all I use for my guitars. The occasional Dimarzio does pop up but most of them have been replaced with EMGs. The are by far superior IMHO for recording since they're really crisp and clean not to mention quiet.
