I have a Deacon with the natural Mahogany finish. Lately I've seen some examples with the sunburst finish asking pretty high "buy it now" prices. All things being equal, (condition ect.) which is more desirable.

I figure that all Deacons are equally rare nowadays. So color is just personal preference.
And availability.

Yeah, people are asking alot on their BIN's, but are they getting it?

Here's something to break alot of hearts...
A Preacher and Deacon TOGETHER just sold for $600! or so, including shipping!
The listing lasted about 3 minutes and 34 seconds!

If the seller says he knows that they typically go for around $1200 for the pair and offers a BIN of $400 then I suspect something is seriously out of kilter.

We know that the electronics are bad and I am betting that the back condition of the guitars hold a real surprise.....as in major buckle rash.

just an opinion.

I don't think color changes the price of Deacons.

The Mauve ones are rare but not desirable.

There really weren't any sucky Deacons.

For me, SB Deacon 12's have been very scarce indeed...I have had the opportunity to buy quite a few natural colored ones...but the SB's remained elusive...until I found this:
