Location: St. Louis Mo. | I've got an older Model 1615 12 stringer. She's a rattling something awful anymore. just wondered if anyone here can tell me if it should go to Ovation for rework or just take a chance locally? St. Louis area. Thanks in advance. |

Hang loose, I suspect that you can get some advice here that will help you make adjustments to correct your problem. It sounds like a simple neck adjustment.

Location: St. Louis Mo. | Thanks to both Bailey and Paul, I did a little more drifting over to the Ovation Site and downloaded their spec sheet/manual.It lead me through some of the setup stuff and "I done it myself".The major culprit was the truss rod. I've owned the guitar for 30 years and was told when I purchased it that it should never be tuned to E always D and use a capo.Recently I e-mailed Ovation and they said it could be tuned to E. I did it and was shocked at all the buzzing. The truss rod cleaned it up a bunch. Now all I need to do is re-install the shim that I took out from under the saddle at the last string change and It'll be perfect.LoWWWW Action and no buzz. This is great! |

How in line with the philosophy here, use the available resources, I hope you are enjoying your guitar. Sometimes that personal input makes the guitar a little more a part of a person's life, the only drawback is they slowly become irreplacable.
