I've recently noticed more questions concerning the issue of top cracks. I compared the warranty info from the owners manual for my '77 Custom Balladeer and my '95 Adamas II and they both claim "full protection from defects in materials and workmanship". I would think that the top cracking from a "thick finish" might fall under the category of defects in materials. Any thoughts? Has anyone had an older model replaced/repaired by Ovation because of the crack issue?

Keep in mind that the warranty is to the original owner only.
