Location: SoCal | I saw Matt Smith do a set at the Kaman area at NAMM on Friday and it should be pointed out that this man is an incredible musician! I saw him play a SMT, a mandolin, and the new MOB. What was cool, was that he had the MOB set up as a lap steel guitar and he was playing a Hawaiian tune on it. Very cool!
To top it off, the guy is a true gentleman and wonderful to visit with. If you ever get a chance to attend one of his gigs, go. You'll have a great time. And if you get the opportunity to talk with him later, it just gets better. |

Location: Lafayette, Louisiana | At least Matt could find a use for the new MOB guitar. Maybe Ovation could market it as a lap steel. That way no one but the player would have to look at how ugly it is. GEEZ! |

Location: SoCal | I saw this guitar at NAMM. I had to admit (and this isn't easy for me), it wasn't a bad looking guitar. I could see Ovation selling a lot of these to 17-23 year olds.

Location: Lafayette, Louisiana | CMS-MAN, as long as Ovation insist on making these Tangent style guitars I will complain. No one has been a bigger cheerleader for Ovation than me. That is why I complain about these guitars. You are correct, this guitar is not my Adamas. And you are right I LOVE my Adamas, but the horrendous guitars Ovation is making now just get to me. Hey I tried to me "open minded" and actually played a Tangent the other day at a local music store. Guess what? It sounded like a shallow bowl Ovation...BAD! The only thing worse than it's sound was it's look. That headstock, damn whose idea was that. I will not lighten up, I just don't know what happen to Ovation. Please can I just get my old company back? I was plenty open minded when I first tried Ovation. Many people then told me to stay away from those "plastic" guitars. But I feel in love with them when I first played a Balladeer. And I have played only Ovation acoustic for over 20 years now. SO don't tell me to lighten up when Ovation insist on making such silly looking, aweful sounding guitars like the MOB!!!.....Paul Hebert |

Location: Scotland | The MOB looks great, the one on the booth was nicely set-up & played well, sounded as good unplugged as any other Celeb at the price. I think they deserve to do really well. Until now there's no way I'd have bought a non-USA Ovation but I'm considering one of these as a back-up slide guitar. Matt Smith used one for Lap Steel, which sounded fine and was one in the eye for those guys who say Ovations keep slipping off the knee! |
