Hello, I have never played one of the center soundhole Adamas models. Does anyone out there own one of these? The Ovation site shows them as a W591, and a 6591 model numbers. If you own one of these, are have played one, please give me your thoughts on this Adamas guitar....Paul Hebert

They SUCK
They are a steaming pile of dog spoo on your new carpet.
(actually, they aren't that steaming, sortof luke warm like it's been there for a few hours)
They are a Porsche with a Yugo engine.
They are a beautiful woman with a hairlip
They sound as good as Michael Jackson looks
They are a wet, lumpy fart in church, heard by everyone
They are the back half of the worm in the apple you just took a bite of and swallowed.

but tell us how you really feel cwk2....

The Adamas was designed to eliminate the center hole and to increase the amount of the top that vibrates so putting out a center hole model is sort of against the purpose of the original design.

I had a couple a few years ago IMHO they did not compare to the smt with the epaulets. But I assume there are people out there that would buy an adamas if they had a center hole and looked more like a "normal" guitar so I assume they were appealing to that market.

I had an unbelievable (well ok, it's not that unbelievable) revalation today. For those of you who have an Adamas, especially an older one, here's an exersize to show off what the top can do. Play a strong chord in the money position (first 3 frets). Heck, just strum it open. Then while it rings out, place your hand on the top, between the bridge and the end of the guitar. It's like throwing a blanket over the guitar. I never really payed that much attention to where the sound was coming from. I play, it makes sound. But this little exersize really opened my eyes to how the Adamas works. Covereing the Epulets only took some of the definition away, and didn't really affect the overall volume.

Miles, I know what you mean. That is one of the things I love about the Adamas. I love how you can feel the guitar work. I often strum it and feel different areas of the top vibrate. I do the same on my Custom Balladeer, and you really see what a sound making device the Adamas top is....Paul Hebert
