Location: ma. | seems like a good idea to keep the top clean but i've heard people talk about the sound changing slightly. don't know if that's true??? |

Location: San Bernardino, California | Anything that weighs down the top of the guitar will change the sound. I've seen a friends guitar that the sound was just about killed by being refinished. It lost most of the treble and midrange. |

Location: Scotland | These are significantly thinner & lighter than regular pickguards. I've used similar material sold as Flamenco guitar Golpes or tap-plates on some of my vintage guitars & non-Ovations some of which have exceptionally thin finishes. There is no perceivable difference in the response after installation. Thick finishes & huge plastic pickguards will have an effect on the sound, but not these things. Your arm resting on the top as you play has far more of a damping effect than a pickguard. |
