don't recall that first one, but those other 2. Man, the reruns of Odd Couple every day on the TV, I could probably still hum it note for note.

But BATMAN! When I was a youngin' I had one of those plastic kites that kinda looked like a bat, and I'd attach it to the front of my Huffy and ride all through the neighborhood singin nananananananananananananananana BATMAAAAAAN!

I suppose he probably touched many others with his work in similar ways. I'd call that a success.

RIP

The Odd Couple was a pretty good show but if you really want the deal, see the Matthau/Lemmon movie. Great stuff. Revisited in Grumpy Old Men and GOM II. And I read not too long ago that the stage version was actually written for Matthau and Art Carney. That had to be classic.

Come on now, didn't anyone play Spy Hunter back in the 80's?

Peter Gunn? wasn't that scored by Henry Mancini, who also did the Pink Panther movies?

Cue a Matt Smith "spy chord"

I think Hefti was doing a "play" on Mancini . .

When you're eight-years-old, CourageousCat was KILLER!!

Speaking of "MattSmithSpyChord" . . I've got a TUNE for you t'hear . . .
