Hi all, I was wondering if I could get some help on the value of my viper solid body electric guitar. This was my first guitar I recieved back in 1983 and I want to sell it but don't know what it's worth.
I think it was made in 1975-1976, it's color is nutmeg, two black/chrome volume control nobs, one crome switch, hardware color is chrome and serial number is E11433. It has the original case with some scratches on the outside and the inside square compartment top(ugly brown suede) is broken but in the case. It needs new strings(cause it hasn't been played for 19 years) and has a very small dent on the bottom front side. Thanks.

300-400 if you catch a buyer at the right time. It seems that the last few months they haven't consistently brought that. I have one, and I really think they are very undervalued. The body is pretty heavy (which I like), the neck is fast and 24 frets, the pick-ups are hot. I can't see the market for the viper taking a dramatic uptick, but it's a well-made reliable instrument.

I have been considering the purchase of a Viper to go with my Balladeer. However, with retiring from the Navy in less than a year, money is a little tight. On the other hand, I should still have a little extra after returning from the Middle East next month. How much are you wanting for your Viper?

Thanks moody.p.i. and intermetroman for your feed back...very much appreciated.
As for Chuck, great to hear you are coming home. Since the it's value is betweem $300-400. I would sell it to you for 300 plus shipping and handling.

I am going to have to check with my wife as she has been running the finances while I have been gone. Where are you located? I will be back in the Norfolk, Virginia area once I get stateside. That should occur sometime in the next 4-5 weeks. GAS strikes hard when it strikes. I would really love to get this Viper.

Just a quick FYI

I stopped by the local pawn shop on my way home from work, saw an Ovation Viper and was intrigued, so I put it on layaway. The asking price was $280, so the $300 mentioned above seems right on the mark.

So . . .

I'm happy to see that I didn't pay too much.
