Hi
My Folklore has developed a bad pickup. I have checked the internal pre-amp , and it is good. ( I am an electronics tech....)

My question is ; will almost any piezo pickup work with the Ovation pre-amp, or must I order a factory pickup/saddle assembly ?

Thanks for your time
Felix

Other piezos will work with the pre but will sound very different, plus you'll need to have the wide saddle slot filled and re-routed for a regular saddle. By the time you take into account the cost of this work & the cost of a Fishman or Baggs pickup you may as well get an original Ovation pickup from customer service. If you are the original owner the lifetime warranty may cover it.
