I'm the original owner of a model 1621-4. Had it packed away for a few years. Want to play it again. My Washburn dreadnought is too fat. My Ovation needs a makeover. Frets are worn, electronics don't work,...Any suggestions where I could send it to be re-furbed? Out of the 6 guitars I own, it's my only AMERICAN made one. Mike

call the serice center ask for John or Kim they will give you a guesstimate at getting it fixed at the factory or can turn you on to an authorized service center near you.

Good to hear from an Ohio person, I grew up in the Conneaut area, and went to Kent's Ashtabula extension. Left there in '62, but I think about it now and then except in the winter.

Tell me his name, I might know him, this is a small town. If I don't, my son might as he gets around more than I do. Get that Ovation fixed and you can play it for the next 30 years, some one here said they go dead after 30 years but I don't believe it, I think it was a ploy to get us old guys to buy new guitars. Whoever it was confess.

His name is Scott Winans. Roomed with him in Biloxi 2yrs. ago at the JRIFC Convention. Nice guy. He works for LCPD, some kinda civilian forensics guys. As far as my Ovation, I played the crap out of it for years. Had a 1970 Gretsch Dbl. Anniversary, too, since I was 14. When I was Al Bundy(married with children) for years, I hardly played. Sold the Gretsch(stupid), took the strings off of the Ovation, and put it in the case, in the closet. Now that I'm Middle-Aged divorced guy(ta-da!!) I strung it up, and it's outta whack, but not beat up. I'm gonna get it fixed, cuz, even though my Washburn sounds good, it's like strapping on a coffin!! Mike

Name sounds a little familiar, I'll look it up and see if we've crossed trails. Get that Ovation working and let us know how it sounds.

Keep pickin'
