| Hello:
I bought an Ovation Balladeer some years ago. Some days ago when I was tunning my guitar, I found out that one of my tuning pegs was broken. I have looking around the internet for a replacement, but is been imposible. The one that broke has the avation logo on it, and those are imposible to get. I found another brands: Schaller, Grover, but I dont know if those would work, because of the size of the tunner and the screw.
I would really appreciate if you could tell me if those tunners would work, for example this one:
http://www.stewmac.com/cgi-bin/hazel.cgi?action=SERVE&ITEM=catalog/sku.html&G=&sku=0935&I=P#details
If not, please tell me what to do.
My guitar model is No. 4861, serial 8061276.
Thanks

Location: NJ | I sincerely doubt those gears linked are the ones on your guitar. Probably schallers with the Avation logo |

Thanks |

Location: Scotland | Schaller nylon bodied M6N machines will be direct replacements for older (70's) Balladeers and are easily available. I may be wrong but I seem to remember that the chrome bodied M6's need slightly larger holes for their threaded bush than the push-in bush of the M6N's. Later Balladeers use Jap or Korean machines, I'm not sure whether they are interchangable with Schallers or similar without re-drilling.
just spotted that 4861 is a recent model number so your guitar will probably have Ping tuners, talk to customer service. |
