I just found this messageboard, and I thought I should introduce myself...this place looks like a great resource for Ovation fans. Personally, I've owned a S771 Balladeer for several years as my main acoustic, and I've always been intrigued by Ovation's solid-body electric guitar and bass offerings - I'm a one-time Viper owner, and I recently acquired a long-coveted Magnum I bass in pieces.

Anyway, I'm still looking for a couple of parts and pieces that I need to finish the Magnum I, but I'll post a separate thread in the "For Sale" for that. In the meantime, thanks for having me!

Welcome. I don't have any Magnum parts, but I'd like to find a pickguard for my DuoSonic!

Welcome;
If you've lurked here for any length of time, you already know that this is a great place. Some of the nicest people you'd ever want to meet, and if you ever have a chance to gather at one of the Jams, tons of wonderful guitars, too.
First suggestion is to buy a Sam's Club-sized bottle of Rolaids to help deal with all the GAS* you'll end up with if your experience here is anywhere near normal. ;) :D

So do ya have one? A Duo Sonic? Which if memory serves is basically a Fender Mustang without the tremelo. Friend of mine still has one of those in his closet from when we played as teenagers 40 years ago. I don't think he's touched a guitar in about the last 20.

Anyway, welcome.

And if you get tired of trying to accumulate the pieces of a whole Magnum...call me. I really should have an O bass in the collection as that's what many in the Home Town would tell you I play...

Welcome aboard, enjoy the ride.
The people, when you get to see them in 'meet space' are pretty darned good!

I do indeed have a Duo-Sonic II from November 1965, and yes, it is the one that's basically a Mustang with a hardtail bridge. I got it in '98, and it was my second electric guitar ever. I don't play it very often nowadays, but I'll never part with it.
