It is the most gorgeous looking/sounding/playing guitar I have EVER played!!!!! wowie!!!!!!! Another thing: I got this guitar from Al and I will also sing his praises! His professionalism, honesty and integrity are Sterling! He exhibited the utmost care and concern for me, his customer, and I will be forever in his debt for steering me to this guitar! Now, I have to try and focus on work.... yeah, sure! This weekend's forcast is for cooler temps, possible rain and fire in the woodstove, new guitar.... sweet! tim

A good humidifier and humidity monitor are a good investment, especially for us who burn wood. Norse(hate to see you have some really pretty REDWOOD firewood on your hands  )man1

Those collectors guitars are so nice. I seem to look at mine as much as I play it. Like I put in the gallery, does Ovation know how to make nice guitars are what?

The extreme grain of the wood had a lot to do with it, but boy do they sound good! I was sent #6 as a sample piece,(former rep)which I kept. Beautiful top. Later in the year, I was able to acquire a Legend version of this guitar which was made for the European market. Not quite as nice sound-wise or figure-wise, but I've got a pair!

Redwood is a member of the Cedar family & is softer than spruce. Softer woods tend to respond to changes in humidity levels faster & more visibly than spruce. Again, with any guitar the key is to have a hygrometer & keep humidity levels in storage to around 45%

I've posted a picture of the guitar in my Picture Album... I put it one-level too deep though... just click on change album on the second screen... The 2001 is absolutely flawless and plays like a dream... I can't put it down! tim
