Location: Canton (Detroit), MI | Goob, time for the "art of the snipe". Let him keep it until 30 seconds from the end. He obviously wants to see his name on that "High Bidder" line. Let him, until the end. Throw your absolute highest bid with 30-45 seconds to go. Good luck.

Location: Canton (Detroit), MI | I don't, Paul, and I mean no offense to that person if they are in this group. It's just that their bidding pattern is very much a "newbie". A newbie on eBay often insists on always having the high bid, all the way until the end, no matter how expensive it gets. My experience is as soon as you figure out you're up against one of these people is to LET THEM HAVE THE HIGH BID, and show up at the end and grab it. Not nice, but the way you have to do it to avoid running the price up into orbit.
