On page 18 of the April 2004 issue of Popular Science magazine, there is a nice picture and article on the Adamas Q. Here is what the article says:

LIGHT ROCK
Carbon-fibre guitars shed
weight to gain sound

Acoustic-guitar designers must balance the
desire for light weight against the need for a
stable frame. A light guitar is in general more
responsive than a bulky one, but remove to much
bracing and the guitar will warp, distorting
the sound. Enter carbon fiber. Adamas's Project
Q prototype is made almost entirely from light
strong composite. Adamas leveraged the material's extra strength to remove sound-deadening braces and hollow out the guitar'
s neck. Because of these structural modifications
the guitar vibrates more freely, creating a well-balanced sound that projects well. At $7,000, it should project all the way to Carnegie Hall.

I would consider it to be like the cars that people watch go around in circles waiting for one to crash. You can't have that car but you can get the GT/SS/LX at the Dealer. I don't see the "Q" as a revolutionary idea, just a refined and different direction.

Now getting back to making phenomenal acoustic instruments that that just happen to have excellant electronics - that's a revolution!!!

You can't have that Guitar (read "Q") but you can get the Q597 at the Dealer.
