I just bought this off ebay... was it a good deal? It's an Ovation (not USA made), brown sunburst 6-string. Any one know if I made a boo-boo? It's in great condition, perfect.

Welcome Lisanerone

If you like your new guitar and it plays and sounds good, you have a good deal. The Celebritys are well made guitars and make a good guitar affordable. Finding this board will be a bonus for you will find tons of good information about all of the Ovation guitars and mandolins, and even a little about the basses. If you read carefully you will find that, other than the collectors, the best judge of the value of a guitar is whether YOU like it, and if it plays and sounds good to YOU. Ovations of all kinds are generally good quality guitars the only exception in my book would be a worn out aluminum neck on some older models, this remark will bring a bunch of angry responses from the lovers of worn out aluminum necks.

If the guitar has no issues, you got an excellent deal. It is a great looking guitar chock full of abalone (assuming it is what that seller claims). It sounds good and has an OP24+ preamp, which is a nice one.

That was a strange auction. I contacted the seller the first time around, and found out that he doesn't really know much about Ovations and didn't really know much about his own guitar. That is beside the point if you get a CS2000.

I have had several of them and sold them in the $350 range. That model can really be called Deluxe Celebrity Deluxe. :D

Bailey,

Would those be the Vintage Fretless models that you reference? :D

If you can't laugh at someone else's pain how can we relish our own!

Don't forget that today is National UPS Driver appreciation day - or at least it is at my house as my 12 string comes home!!!

Welcome Lisa - nice Member number, very orderly.
