I would usually council extreme caution in dealing with an eBay seller with a "2" feedback rating, but I would admit, this person looks decent. Good solid description if it's true.

Good luck, Tony!

The top/bridge reinforcement thing kind of bothers me, but it may be alright. It sure *looks* like a nice piece. Good work, Paul!

Hi folks. That's my guitar here and thanks for looking! I won't talk about it here since it probably violates forum rules (at least that's the way it works over in the Fender Forum where I am usually at). E-mail me if you have any specific questions. rboles@ku.edu. I was here before when I tried to sell it last year and it feels nice to be back and see some familiar names!

BD, don't say a thing, don't get anyone excited - you see, I am high bidder.
:D

Actually, you are supposed to discuss your guitar or guitars. Brag, cry, seek help...whatever. A lot of good folks here who are "nuts" about O's.

Blind Dog, no rules just right here. There is a minor rule that is not to make Al mad but nobody follows it anyway.
Mass st is a great store, I got a wonderful Collings from them a year ago. I also just rediscovered standard Bd #148 so I'm interested to see how your auction goes.

Thanks guys! I knew it was cool here. Good luck to all. By the way, I'm getting more specific information from Mass St. on the brace. I'll post in the auction.

There's A-1 large and B-2 large, and according to moody, p.i., they can't be too large! Yuk yuk!!

Seriously, back then there was only one available bowl size: DEEP.

(I know, there were those 4 CF Classics with the really shallow bowls.......)

Hi,

Thanks for the info on the bowl. One more thing: is there a pickup in this guitar? If not, what is the best way to amplify this model?

Thanks,
Jon

Pickups were a thing of the future when this git-tar was made. They were just concerned with making great sounding axes!

Personally, since it is a collector's piece, I would not butcher the git-tar by putting a pickup in it. Just enjoy the natural sound and mic it when you play it out.

Hi,

I've got an old D'Armond soundhole pickup that I was thinking about trying. I've used it in several other all wood guitars, and was wondering how it would fare in the Ovation.

Thanks,
Jon

That's right. No pickup and deep bowl. As Goober indicated, most (and me) would probably mic it rather than modify it. I also like what like you say about putting in a reversable pickup. By the way, got your message and sent you back one.
