Location: Lake Hiawatha, New Jersey | Friday night I played my first gig using only my Ovation guitars. Usually, I have at least one of my Martins with me, but I decided to bring just my 2 Ovations. As much as I love my Martins, I must say that even my Baladeer Special (which I purchased as sort of a "back up" guitar) peformed brilliantly, and was much easier to E.Q. than either of my Martins. I'm actually giving serious consideration to selling one of my Martins and getting either a Legend LX or Elite LX 6 string to use at gigs.
I don't think that I will ever be a total Ovation convert because my first Martin is a guitar that I will never get rid of, but I'm getting closer!
On another note, I hope that everyone had a great time on the tour. I'm sorry that I couldn't join you this year, but I'll be there next year for sure. In the meantime, I'll be dealing with these damn GAS pains!! |

Location: Fort Worth, Texas | Ovations are the guitars for performing with, IMHO. In the Friday night jam we heard all different models. Cliff, Alpep, Paul Templeman, and Kim (from Ovation) were up and playing (correct me if I'm wrong y'all) an Adamas 6-string, a Viper, (I think Paul T. had an Elite?), and a Viper bass respectively. Cliff on great vocals. Myself, Playadamas, Woz, and a friend of mine who lives not to far from the factory provided percussion: bongos, cowbell, shaker and shaker respectively. :D
It was a blast and sounded great (don't let Alpep fool you, he was laying out some great lead stuff on the Viper and Paul T was playing fantastic slide  )
And we heard several 12-strings, Michael's new LX, Legends, etc. etc...
All sounded great.
Enjoy playing them plugged in!!!!!! |

I used to tell people it was all done with smoke and mirrors but then they would remind me that it was extremely illegal.
My viper is eh...."higly modified" to say the least. or as Rich Hall puts it "that guitar is just so wrong on so many levels" I guess there are no immediate plans for the Al Pepiak signature model.
As for playing I am the king of hacks. Luckily no one has it on tape!!! |

 [/QB]
if I told you I would have to kill you....
89 collector's series neck
5 position strat style switch
emg humbucker with coil tap on push pull vol
emg single coil
it makes it sort of a cross between an Ovation viper and a Hamer duotone. |
