Does Ovation have a regular custom shop, and were would you find out prices and options? Also, does Ovation offer any stock guitars with a 1 3/4" nut width? My only complaint on my current O is the 1 11/16" nut. It's a little narrow for some of the fingerstyle stuff I attempt to play. Thanks in advance...

To answer your question, it's not a "custom shop" specifically, but if you want a custom guitar made by Ovation, they will do it if possible. I have seen some amazing guitars from there and the prices are VERY reasonable.

Of course Ovation can pretty much build you what ever you are willing to pay for. I had them do an Adamas II Slothead with a 1-3/4 neck which is just stunning. Talk to your local dealer or Alpep. Mike, glad you missed it, it is too nice to have surprises added like flames...last I heard, it was still on the rack outside of Kim's office. Got a feeling their a little busy right now getting those LX's out.

The Folklore looks like it would do the trick, I just can't get past the rosette on that model. If the Deluxe is dressed more like a Legend, I could go for that. Thanks again for the replies...

The rosette on the Deluxe is just as disappointing as the regular Folklore....the SOUND sure isn't, though!!!!! Can you say "deep-bowl"???? Sure you can. The flat black peghead didn't impress me, so away we go for a glossing. I'm sure I'll enjoy your custom "additions". Stevers, The FD was a limited run of 50 guitars. Check the press releases on the Ovation site and you will find one about it. The guitar was basically never advertised. I think 3-4 people on this board have them. It's still in my opinion THE BEST sounding wood top Ovation I have ever played. The rosette is actually very unique and very non-ovation. It's a ring of inlaid tortoise shell. Looks very classy. The entire body binding is also tortoise shell. You can see it in my photo gallery. I guess if you wanted to you could put on the old style add-on Ovation floral rosette right on top of it. But I think that would really be a waste of a beautiful guitar. Oh yeah, and the top is CEDAR - sings like a bird. Dave
