.... so, would any of you fellow Ovationites please call and explain to my wife why it is absolutely necessary for my continued mental health to invest in yet another guitar (#5)??? :rolleyes:

Maybe this will help.
A) I have found that if you can't explain to your spouse in 20 seconds or less why you need something, you aren't going to get it.
B) If it's her idea you don't have to do any explaining.
AB Solution) What would motivate her to thinking you need this guitar?
1) Bring home some Monster Truck or Hot Rod magazines and look like your considering "building your own".
2) Get out you power tools (randomly) and bring home some home remodeling plan books. Say you are considering "building your own".
3) Obtain magazines on home woodcrafting and catalogs of Shopsmith, etc. Highlight the more expensive tools and machinery. Talk about items you could "build yourself".
I hope by now you see a trend and have also realized there is some level of risk involved. Please use extreme caution before proceeding! :eek:
4) Snuggle up close some quiet evening and cassualy mention you've been thinking how nice it would be to hear the pitter-patter of little feet again...or get an LX to pass the loneliness. |

Location: Yucaipa, California | ....been there.... we've been married for 21 years and she sees through all of those types of diversionary tactics... I am having a new kitchen built for her (possible many many points for me!) and when the work starts in earnest, I'm hoping the sawdust will cover the new guitar case!!
"Where'd that come from?".. "Dunno, maybe the contractor forgot it"....

Location: Yucaipa, California | ....did that last summer.... found an abandoned 2-month old kitten (2.1 lbs) in a wilderness area.... "Honey, look what I brought home!..."...
btw the kitten is now 7+ lbs! very much a part of the family....

I think I know what you are suffering from. I work in a large psychiatric center in NYC. I'm a Pharmacist/Photographer/Guitar Player. From the symptoms you describe you are suffering from
"OCD" which is "Ovation Compulsive Disorder".
From my experience as a medical professional you must folow my advise. You must play a
Elite (not the glucometer) LX at least 3 times
a day. It is also important for your wife and family to be a strong support system to help you fully recover from your condition.

when people ask my wife "Why is Tim like he is?", she replies "He's a guitarist and plays Ovations!"
"Oh, that explains it...."
being a guitarist allows me to get away with behaviour that would otherwise be considered rather odd...
at least I know what my disorder is and now I can embrace it! :D

I forgot to tell you something. People who suffer from this disorder are always thinking of the numbers 6 or 12. My many years of experience tell me that the numbers have some to do with strings that have letters associated with them .The letters are usually E A D G B E.
I almost forgot as a member of OFC my examination and diagnosis of your condition are free of charge.
