What were you thinking? How could you let it go? The neck was a little tight - needed a little tweak - put some Martin Phosphor Bronze 10s on her, and she just purrrrrrs:-) Good golly, Miss Molly! What a b - e - a - utiful guitar. Thanks, Woz. I promise to take very good care of this '83 Lady.

I'm glad it made it safe... I have another present that I'll send along. It belongs in the room with the guitar. I'm glad it's making you smile.

We haven't heard anything from you on your 1537. This mean you like it? It's different from you Deluxe Balladeer, but still wonderful. |

Welcome to the 1537 fan club. They really are beauties. Does you top look like quilted maple like mine?
Remember, the 1537 sounds best when you play near a reflective surface, or have someone else play it for you. Its just the way the 1537 projects.
BTW, where is Freeport? I'm from Zion |

The top is a beautifully aged spruce - dark yellow, but not really like a quilted maple - very nice grain. These 1537s are really gorgeous instruments in every way. I love my 2001 Redwood, but I think there is more sound and tone - deeper, richer response from the 1537. One of my students just purchased a new Larrivee OM-50 last week and brought it to the lesson this afternoon. He was not happy that some old Ovation with a plastic back blew his new Larrivee out of the water - no contest, really. Granted, his OM is fresh out of the box, and will undoubtedly improve over time. The OM-50 is a very nice guitar and extremely playable. The 1537 is an Ovation.
BTW, Freeport, Il is 45 minutes from Rockford, IL, and about an hour from Madison, WI.
