I trust everyone is well. I know it's been a long time since I've posted but I've been busy w/ a new promotion and building a home for my father. Anyway, I posted some time ago about my Elite Special and Breadwinner that I had puchased and I even came across a Deacon that I bought as well. Ovations kinda grow on you, yeah?

Well, about 3 months ago my Breadwinner and Deacon were stolen from my house...at least I still have my Elite. 2 days ago, believe it or not, I found out who stole the guitars. It was one of my boys' friends. After contacting his mother she is selling his car to make restitution to which I have agreed. If anyone happens to know of a Breadwinner and/or Deacon for sale I would be very appreciative if you would let me know since I'm anxious to get back to playing on an Ovation electric. My Brawley is nice and all, but it's just not an Ovation...know what I mean. Take care folks... :)

Good to hear from you, I don't think you have posted since The Ring Trilogy movie has appeared. It proved our love of the Tolkien stories isn't misplaced.

I hope you can replace your guitars, those are two guitars I would like to have. Your sad story reminds me of one my brother had when he was alive and a professional fiddle player, somebody stole his car with some of his fiddles in the trunk and wrecked it and set it on fire destroying the car which he had restored for sale and the fiddles. The culprits turned out to be our nephews on a drunken rampage, one of which is an excellent fiddle player taught by my brother. This happened some years ago or my language might be more colorful in describing it and my brother died of cancer some years ago.

Thanks Bailey and I'm truly sorry about your brother passing away. In all honesty, I had resigned myself to the fact that the guitars were gone and that was that. I'm somewhat surprised, although pleasantly of course, that the boys' mother is going to sell his car to make restitution...so i may not get my original one back, but at least i'll have an Ovation again. Might take some time but as I had said I still have my Elite(which I love) and a nice Brawley Electric(heard these guys are out of business too) which is actually a very nice guitar. I let ya know and I'll make a point of not being a stranger...Take care.

Welcome back. Sorry to hear about your guitars. What did the little creep do with yours? Have you tried to track them down? Unless they burned up like the aforementioned fiddles they're *somewhere*, & they're still yours! Get after the police! Get after the mother to get after the kid! She'd probably be better off doing that than selling her car.

Good Luck!

I've been in a situation very similar to this, twice.

My advice to you is - first get the restitution, then make sure he also pays his price to society, in that order.

Frikkin' kids... mom bails their ass out, nothing happens, they go on to bigger and better crime.

Gonna say, one of the experiences I had was catching a kid, a local, breaking into the church I attend..... dont get me started on kids and crime.

The important thing is get the restitution FIRST, because once he's in the legal system, you'll be flat out of luck - no matter what his mother says - due to legal restrictions (at least here in FL).

If you've got the serial numbers, maybe they can be tracked down. Luckily, you live in CA. There's a REALLY good private investigator that lives in Mission Viejo. I'm sure HE could track 'em down!!!

. . . if you can't get HIM, try Paul Moody as a last resort.

Aragorn,
Al has a Breadwinner for sale on his website. Getting some compenstion from the mother is great. That does not happen often.
