Hi Folks,
I picked up this amp recently and cannot seem to identify the model. Trace Elliott has not responded, and the information in their archives lists many many amps going way back, but not this one. Not the lack of the XLR and the carry strap. The model number is not listed anywhere on the inside or out.

Trace Acoustic

This amp is really nice by the way. I just want to find out what model it is. This is the amp that has the resonant freq problem with the cabinet, so I just took the front panel and grill off until I have more time to work on it.

I've got a 1995 Trace Elliot catalog and the closest I can come to it is the TA50R. But it's not exactly like the one in my picture. But it's close. It's either an earlier or later model.

By the way, when you sending me back my catalog?

If it's not the TA50 it may be a TA35

In my catalog the TA30 looks significantly different.

I used to have a TA35 (lost it in the divorce) .
It looked a lot like that, but the front was "angled" a little more, and it did in fact have a carry handle. Perhaps mine was a newer model. They ARE fantastic acoustic amps. Not a whole helluva lotta power, but they got the soooouuunnndd!

Damn! I miss that amp . . . . .

Well I guess now we are pretty solid on what it isn't. The lack of the xlr has me most baffled as that's kindof what Trace acoustic amps are known for. It does have reverb, notch filter and even an effects loop on the back. It's loud as all get out and surprisingly clean and clear. A really well built amp. Now if I could only identify it.

Well Mystery solved... sortof. I opened it up, and checked the circuit board again. It's a TA50. I still have never seen one without an XLR on it. Also, I found entertaining was that the reverb is an Alesis chip. This amp was made in 1991.

Just about every manufacturer used the Alesis reverb chip until the Chinese copied it and sold it at a 20th of the price.
