Location: Canton, Ohio | I just purchased an Ovation standars balladeer 1771 LX-5. What are your thoughts on this guitar? Is it a good one?
Also, what is the difference between an LX-4 and a LX-5?
Thanks! |

Location: Canton, Ohio | Is it a standard balladeer 1771 LX-5
and
Legend 1777 LX-4?
Is that it or is there a balladeer lx-4 and lx-5? |

Rob, all of the LX units are good guitars. There are a variety of options and models to choose from. The -4 denotes the color treatment.
Take a look in my gallery for a promotional that will "splain everyting".
And Welcome! |

I can't believe that you actually bought a 1771 LX-5. Of all the LX series, that guitar is the one with all the problems and with the worst tone. A real piece of junk. Hope you didn't pay more than a hundred for it. In fact, I'll take it off your hands for a hundred right now. Just to be nice.
Seriously, it's a terrific guitar and you'll be happy with it. All the LX guitars are a giant step in the right direction, IMHO. You done good. |

Location: Charlotte NC | The 5 means you got a black one just like mine. I've had it about a month. I have been a bass player for the last three years due to an over abundance of guitar players around here. The LX however has made it such that I don't care if I'm in a band, or playing on my front porch, or while settin on the john. It is the nicest guitar I've ever owned and I can't put it down. |

Location: Vernon, CT | I've got the Legend LX Transparent Burgundy and like it better than my Martin! : ) Also, I special ordered through the Reverend Al P. a Balladeer LX but with a blue finish. Not sure if there is a model number for that but I like both guitars. Have fun...once you go Ovation you've gone Innovation and won't go back (or so the saying goes).

The code for blue is 8 and 8T for transparent Blue. Very nice choices! |
