"Just got home from Illinois, unlocked the front door, oh, boy......."

Spent the last few days visiting my dad and my family in Illinois....my wife and I stopped on the way in this evening at our local CD emporium and purchased Heart's new CD "Jupiter's Darling". It appears to be a "concept album", but it's not clear to me yet how tight the concept is. I've listened to the first 4 songs, though, and it sounds as good as anything they have ever done. Lots of tasty acoustic guitar work, and it really ROCKS. Sixteen songs total.

They give a "hail" to Dave Vincent of Kaman (Takamine and Ovation) in the credits. So Ovation gets a mention on the album, although it's not clear how much an O product was used(they've only been using Ovation 12-strings in concert the last decade).

More after I listen to the whole thing.

I think Nancy's hair color is streaked RED right now....we'll see August 16th....

I've had a chance to listen to the whole album now. It is great. And can you say "grunge"???? I think they took their Seattle home to heart (pun intended) plus Mike Inez's influence (ex-Alice-In-Chains) and went with it.

I don't think it is really a concept album, although the liner comment about "Jupiter's Darling" would lead you to believe it. Unless the concept is "love", which I believe all the songs touch on.
