Here is an interesting end of a string. As Paul Harvey might say "Where's the rest of the story?".

If the tops have several years on them, this might be worth it if you had an old O with this bracing that had a bad top, and you wanted to send it with one of these to the Mothership for repair, but otherwise, I don't see the point.

What would the effect be of the wood not having been part of a guitar, not being played in, not having the stain, coating, etc.??? Might well be just as well off to have a NEW top put on it.

Note he doesn't say what grade the wood is(just goes on about companies trying to steal his invention and showing pictures of his guitars that are not for sale--WHY???). Also, his "0" rating does not insprire confidence.

All-in-all, unless you want a wall display for your Ovation room, probably better left alone.

Tried to steal his ideas????????

Well fuck him and the horse he rode in on!

This is one of the hazards of being a manufacturer. There's always lunatics like this with the best idea since strings and after you give them a check with lots of 0's they'll share their idea that only appealed to them and their horse anyway.

You will note that these tops have not been tampered with or "Prototyped" if you will. If I had the best ideas since strings I would also have the working models and the patent. I'm guessing the idea had just a few "technical bugs" to work out.

Maybe he should take his idea of an acoustic tremolo to the Bluegrass players. They'll know what to do with the horse!
