Would this be the first all non-wood acoustic guitar there is?..........I assume there is no wood used in the production of this piece.

The top is a sandwich of wood between two layers of carbon graphite. The bracking is all wood, as is of course the neck and bridge. Ovation has been working on a truely 100% graphite guitar and even advertises it, although it isn't expected to be introduced to the market for another 15 or so years. Some of us have played the prototypes of the Q and personally I think they'll need every bit of the 15.

E X,

Obtain a copy of "The History Of Ovation" and you'll get a fair background. If you look closely you'll find some really neat boots. Don't look for a new hair style there though!

Check the reference section of this website and get familair with the first release Adamas guitars - where they went and who has them. These first ones were "Pre-tooling" which I believe meant the jigs, molds and processes to make them faster/cheaper were not developed. Some of the cherished parts were the hand carved walnut bridges, head stocks and the purfling that goes around the top edge. The necks were two piece walnut and the fretboard was a rare walnut cut that had been infused with a Poly-Multi-Mega-Urethingy that makes it impervious to Nuclear Fallout.

Several of the first Adamas I instruments were signed by Charles W. Kaman Sr. since this was the apitomy of ephiphany's come to it's volition.

Soon after he rested and another era of Corporate Communal Collusion took it's turn.

In summarry, the inspiration, persperation and aspirations of a gifted Engineer climaxed with the Adamas. They are chased after by many and scoffed by some. They are lovely in the hands of an artist and will inspire generations to come.

Someday I hope to have one... or two...
