The last time I answered one, I got (tongue in cheek) reamed by another board member (and a good pal) and I'm just not going to answer these questions any more. The only good answer to to refer the person to ebay. A guitar is worth whatever somebody will pay for it. Having just seen a Breadwinner Ltd go for over $1900, I realize it's an interesting market.

It's a high cause you have one and a low because you want one and the price just went up! Such is life.

I'd pay $1US (=$200Can. haha) for answers to any or all of my questions. Hello again Roger, I joined just to find info and get feedback on the history, age, value, appeal and I'm delighted with the responses. They have been informative and friendly. Hi moody,p.i./Paul, Your pal doesn't read everything here does he? ;-) Maybe I should sell it to Cliff for $100Can. but that might depress MWoody, and, affect the value of every Ovation everywhere. haha. Thanks again to every respondant for all your help (and laughs) so far.

Did the Salem/Halloween thing a few years ago as well. Stayed at the Hawthorne Hotel on the "Common". Had a GREAT time!! Highly recommend it to anyone. If the guitar has even a modicum of "sentimental value" to you, . . . . keep it.

So very convenient also. Did you go to their Halloween Ball? Are you in any of their Halloween photos on their website? I think they keep them posted for four years. We stayed in Wakefield about 12 miles from Salem. The traffic on Halloween was crazy. It took us 1 1/2 hours to drive 12 miles. Worth it though. Next time I will stay in Salem for sure. The costumes were wonderful. So creative, funny, original, etc. I design and make costumes part-time. I went as a witch because it was a good costume that travelled well. My favourite costume, that is exceptional (in my own mind), is a unique bumble bee. The adorable feet are too large when you must share a car trunk with two other people who insisted on each bringing their own coolerS (in addition to their luggage) just for their own lunches on the drive down. I deserve a medal for travelling with two people who are on the extreme opposite diets and can debate about it for hours on end. I brought music but not the headphones. :-/ lalalalala. About my guitar. Will my membership be revoked if I confess that I do not even play a guitar? I love music. I love shows. I love musicals. The only sentimental value is when I hear others play it and the memories of dusting it off from time to time. By the way. I left a little note for you on the weekend on one of your postings. ;-) Hi Slap, Yes, Canadians may travel anywhere. Even to Cuba. haha. What year were you in Salem for Halloween. How old were your kids when they went and what did they think of it?

Hell I'm a F4U Corsair fan but I couldn't fly one. (Although I have an RC model of one I can fly!) Having said that, you should think about thae fact that you won't start learning any younger & this is the place to ask questions about learning. There are some truely outstanding guitar players that post on this board, (unfortunately I'm not one of them) :) Question: ". . I was in Massachusetts last October. Saw the ocean there and had an interesting time in Salem for Halloween. It's like Mardi gras with a Halloween theme. About 30,000 people, maybe half in costumes and 6 public portable toilets. . ." Duzzat mean the other half was nekked?? /\/\/

Joined: September 2002 Posts: 153 | Returning to the topic of the 1122-4, these are fine guitars, as I presently own one and it is one of my favorite artist bowl acoustic nylon-string Ovations. The 1122's and 1123's have a voice not common to other Ovations, and therefore it is a desirable model. However, due to the twelve fret neck and lack of electronics, they have a very limited appeal to buyers. Regarding value, in recent months several of these have been sold on eBay, and in pristine condition they have gone for $300 - $450. In the past two weeks, an 1122-4 went for $305, and an 1123-4 with a more recent decal (possible refin) went for $430.

Do you think this model would be hard for a woman to learn to play, who's never played any guitar before? Hi Nils, Thanks for the welcome. I enjoy listening to guitars. So far I have not had a desire to learn to play but you're right about this being the place to ask for advice. Did you build your RC model? I recently met a fellow who builds large model planes that he flies remotely. His latest has quite a wide span and I've been invited to the launch. Should be interesting. Another friend launches rockets that are about up to three feet high in size. That's fun too. Your "other half" comment keeps making me laugh.

I know one is 'out of order' at the moment. 5 or 6 are R/C planes & the rest are control line, mostly competition stunters. I built all but three of them. The largest one has about a 7 foot wingspan. /\/\/
