Hi OFC Fans,

Bought the Trekker from Al P. which should be at my house on Friday for me to give to my 8 yr old son for Xmas and teach him to play. Didn't know much about it but according to Al it sounds great and is like a small Adamas in terms of sound output, etc. Again thanks for all you opinion and input. Good deal!

Thanks Everyone!

John L.

You'll like it. I have two that I bought over the years for my boys to get their first licks on (figuratively and literally). One was an Applause AA13 (supershallow, roundhole) and the second was a CS212 (mid bowl, celebrity deluxe appointments). Both have held up really well to the rigors of dealing with youngsters who really try to be gentle but end up smacking it around some. Don't get your hopes up too far on the sound, but they're decent enough that you'll find yourself playing them every once in a while. And they're great for the smaller hands and arms of your son.

The $64K question is how the heck are you going to keep that thing under wraps for almost three months? Maybe it's just me, but there's no way ANY new guitar that shows up wouldn't immediately get into the rotation. :-)

Bob;
I hear ya' on the "rotation" thing!;-)
A good friend o'mine had recently loaned me a couple of his guitars for a SC&C (SeasonalCare&Custody)arrangement. On the way home, Jeanette would periodically glance into the back of the car (roll her eyes) and say: ". . well, I know where YOU'LL be for the next couple of nights!!" :D (hmmm....actually, they kinda have a leading role in why I'm up late NOW!! . . )
(Even though it's Friday nite, . . I gotta (grrrrrr) WORK tomorrow!

Bad News: I gotta "work" Sunday, too . .

Good News: It's a GIG!

Bad News: It's a "PigRoast"
Bad News(2.5): I'm a vegetarian

Good News: It's a fun place with a good, responsive crowd.

Bad News: The ONLY "shelter" (tent) will be inhabited by :
a.) YoursTruly
b.) Partner (Rick)
4.) Pig (as of yet, "unnamed")
Bad News(2.6): Pig more talented than partner

Good News: They're "good" to u$ :-)

Bad News: They sell tequila
Bad News(2.6.1;-): They sell PATRON tequila!
Bad News(2.7): ". . oh, %#*&@ . ."

Good News: They lemme drink FREE!

Bad News: (. . see above. . )

Bad News(3.6.145.%%^#>&^#*%#!!!): I gotta work Monday!!

Lather/Rinse/Repeat . . . .

John;
"Good Choice on the Trekker! ;-)
I tell ya' I had always been curious about 'em & and never really "played" one, but after I had played on Scot's. . .

They're GREAT for "what they are". . .
. . a decent sized, travel/practice guitar that's relatively comfortable to play . .

"Sound"wise: They're "not bad"
- maybe not the "loudest" thing around the family campfire (that honor usually goes to my shirt), still it sounds better than accompanying your singing by hitting yourself with a piece of kindling (. . and we've ALL "been there/done that").

ANYWAY! . . .
Congraziano on the new acquisition!
I hope your son enjoys it!!

Tell him I said "Merry Christmas!"

. . . is it &^%#^ing December ALREADY??!??!??
