The speed limiter on my Ranger kicks in at 104. Ask me how I know. My tires are rated higher than that. Ford's thinking was, apparently, that it's unsafe to go faster than that in a truck that's light in the rear end. Of course, they accomplish this speed limiting by selectively cutting out cylinders. Which makes for a *(&# of a ride. I think that's more unsafe than speeding. |

Location: 6 String Ranch | Oh that's what a speed limiter is. Mine kicks in on the benz at 155, at least that was the old one. They say the new one is at 189 but I think I'll take their word on it.
I was always taught that you drive in the left lane and pass in the right. It's what I continue to do unless the Saturn driver stays in the left and then I'll blow by in the right. My wife thinks I'm being rude when I fly by on the right and cut back in front and give the Italian salute disappearing into the horizon. (Of course you can't so that in they south, they'll shoot you)

Location: Tennessee | Aw heck, W-2, give it a try. After all, one needs to turn the Fender Twin up to 10 just to experience the sensation, right? :)
Of course, chips are replaceable and there are some good aftermarket ones out there. The lawyers always make the manufacturers err on the side of caution. Maybe you can get Mr. Callaway to do the setup. :D
I have similar problem with my wife ... emitting those little (and not so little) squeaks on occasion, and frequently slamming on the phantom brake pedal on the passenger side. She never seems to have the problem ... the big brush bar, PIAAs and top rack on her Land Rover seems to make people dart to the right lane when she's coming up on them. :rolleyes: |

Location: Midland, MI | Huh, when my wife used to think that I was about to convert us into a pile of twisted metal and shredded flesh, she tended to slam both hands into the cieling and scream epithets the likes of which would make sailors blush. Well, she used to. I got tired of it and started blipping the gas when she did that...negative reinforcement. 'Gee hon, when you freak out like that it distracts me and I think I'm stepping on the brake, but I miss and hit the gas. It'd be great if you could just trust my driving.'
Hasn't happened in a long time, but now that I've mentioned it, just watch... |

Location: 6 String Ranch | Like a Twin on 10. Yes I've experienced that and the 155 several times. More than 155 is not really necessary. The scary thing about this new car is that when you lift your foot at say 120, the car stays at 120 and slowwlllly comes down. I find myself thinking about passing situations "how much speed will I still be carrying at the turn a half mile ahead?" I guess that's what 530 horses will do.
Anyhow, I spent part of the day with our illustrious leader, Mr. O, today at BikeTober Fest down in Daytona. Ya gotta love biker gatherings, no tofu burgers there! Got him hooked up with Tony Murga. Story at 11:00. |

with a benz diesel wagon, passing is a moot point. i usually get behind a bus, put on some good music, let the bus run interference, and enjoy the 30 mpg.
but 530 ponies!! german stallions at that!! someday i have to experience that. i used to race drag cars in the 60's, but that felt like you were in the middle of a herd of stampeeding, life on the line power. i'll bet the benz whispers its way to the 3rd digit by comparison. |

Location: 6 String Ranch | No veggie burgers either, just meat and more meat. There was some interesting meat walking around dressed in not much. I understand that if you don't chew it it can also be vegitarian? It's what somebady said.....
Miles and I had an interesting discussion about how companies market things, market share and all that spoo. Basically, think of Harley as Martin and go from there. Miles, as ya'll know, has a Victory bike. I just went to see Tony and get my new pair of golf shoes, a nice tan belly alligator.
