Does anyone know what a "buzz" sound is caused from? My Ovation at times does this-although it still has incredible playing and recording quality.I heard it was a matter of fret readjustment? Sometimes though, I tune my guitar way down for my compositions-this is when I notice a difference in buzzing.

Thanks for your help!

Christine

when you tune it down it slacks the strings use a heavier gauge string that may help but you may have to take some more relief in the neck

What Al said.

Plus... if it buzzed down on the low frets... its probably neck relief (truss rod adjustment).

If it buzzed up toward the higher frets (say above fret 8 or 10, then it could simply be the saddle is too low.

Buzzing is sometimes simply not enough finger pressure applied to the string during play. :)

Thank you all for your replies and input!! I think it's time for me to take it down to the shop and get a tune up. Haven't had the neck adjusted in years-but it still sounds as good as Ann and Nancy Wislon (Heart) If only my playing was as good as theirs! And I do always use x-light strings-I like a bright sound (often breaking my E string) but I will try out medium gauge....hmmmmmm

Thanks all-you guys are terrific
